North West Region Runner Up!

Wow. Wow. Wow. Thank you to the Professional Speaking Association for their annual "Speaker Factor" competition and thank you to the judges for awarding me the North West Region Runner Up 😊 What an experience!

Entering speaking competitions is a relatively new experience for me but in the same month this happened, I was also a finalist in the National Speaker Awards for my latest TEDx talk.

Both events totally blew my mind and proved that I can practice what I preach. You really can achieve the seemingly impossible if you put your mind to it.

Thirty years ago my then form tutor at school unwittingly started me on my journey of growing my own confidence and helping others to do the same by telling me I wasn't good enough to be Head Girl. She said I wouldn’t be able to stand up in a room full of people and speak to them.

That experience is often the subject of many of my talks these days and it was definitely the catalyst that has led me to where I am today!
